Working in Real Estate means meeting some of the most fascinating, amazing, and inspiring people who call our communities home. Follow us on a journey to meet some amazing humans in our own backyard that are making the Valley a brighter, happier, safer place to live!

Meet Chelsea Bilsbarrow!

Chelsea is a Primary Care Paramedic stationed at the Lake Cowichan Ambulance Dispatch Centre. She moved to Vancouver Island from Ontario when she was a young child and has called our little slice of paradise home ever since!  As part of the new 24-hour coverage ambulance care in Lake Cowichan, Chelsea and the rest of the 10-person crew cover Nitnat to Paldi, with transfer and the occasional call to Duncan as well. If you’ve had a visit from BC Ambulance in the last few years, chances are you’ve seen Chelsea hard at work saving lives and helping fellow community members! On her days off, she often goes to Vancouver to help staff BC Ambulances at both UBC and the downtown east side of Vancouver, where paramedics are desperately short staffed.  When not hard at work, Chelsea is giving back to her community in amazing ways. A proud member of the  #CowichanLakeTrailBlazers Society, you can often find her volunteering, creating new hiking, and walking trails throughout the Lake Cowichan area. If you ever see Chelsea walking the trails with a four-legged friend it’s likely one of the over 50 dogs she has fostered to adopt through the Victoria Humane Society. Her skills don’t end at dog walking, though. She also mountain bikes, hikes and has her own small business Land Shark Leashes, making upcycled dog collars from old climbing rope. Keeping trash out of the landfill and creating sustainability in her own way! Check her business out on Facebook: Land Shark Leashes https://www.facebook.com/landsharkleash/
When we asked Chelsea why she loves being a paramedic, and why she loves Lake Cowichan she said it’s a “front row seat to the world” and she “loves that [she] can make someone’s really bad day a bit better.” How did we meet this amazing human? Through the new Cowichan Valley Adventure Women Facebook group! A Facebook group for local women who want to get outdoors, have some adventures, and build each other up while meeting new women from all walks of life looking to explore the Valley and have some fun!Join us in sending a HUGE thank you to this amazing woman who is working so hard to look after us all, and investing in the future of her community in creative ways!  Thank you, Chelsea!
